What is best thing to remove spots from my carpets?

Store bought spot and stain removers just don’t seem to work like they do on TV. There are many home remedies for cleaning carpet, all you have to do is look in your kitchen cabinets and under the sink. Club soda is a great safe spot lifter to use on spills, and works on any kind of carpet recipe. Follow these steps, with any stains on your carpet. It is important that you do not make a spot more difficult to get out, before you even start.

1. Blot up as much moisture as you can, and lay paper towels on the spill, then apply pressure to soak up most of the moisture.

2. Scrape up any solid material.

3. Pour club soda on the spill. The carbonation will bubble up and the spill so it can be blotted up, with a towel or paper napkins.

4.When you spot clean, do not rub in the stain, it will only spread it deeper into the fibers.

5.Repeat the process with your professional spot remover if available.

Beer spills

First, blot up as much as you can with a mop, or you can use paper towels. Then soak the area with club soda, and blot again. You may need to repeat this process a few times to get the beer out. Beer will become difficult to remove, if it is not taken care of quickly.

Chocolate stains

Spray with 1/2 cup hydrogen peroxide mixed with 1 teaspoon of ammonia. Allow to soak for 20 minutes, and gently once again, blot. Once it’s gone, flush with club soda. Gently blot again to remove left over cleaners.

Coffee spills

Hot Coffee is like a brown dye on the carpet, so spray on some peroxide and blot. If the stain remains try some more hydrogen peroxide and gently blot.

Gum or tar

Freeze with a bag of ice for about 20 minutes, then chip away all you can with your scraper tool. How does gum get on the carpet you might ask, well you can always blame the kids or the dog.

Permanent Ink

Spray on some hair spray and blot or blot with rubbing alcohol. Soak the area around the ink so it will not spread out further.

Red Wine

It may require opening a new bottle ofwhite wine that is, and pouring it on the red stain. follow with club soda and peroxide and blot dry. Repeat as necessary

Furniture Leg indentations

Place ice cubes in the indentations, and let them melt. Fluff up the fibers the next day with a bone scraper tool. Or spray with water, cover with a towel and run a warm steam iron over the towel.
